Email Delivery and SMTP Servers

Message Settings

  • Send Email To: - Email address of recipient
  • Message Subject: - Desired subject of email
  • From (Email): - Email address of sender (some SMTP servers, such as those used by Gmail, will rewrite this value)
  • From (Name): - Real name of sender (some SMTP servers, such as those used by Gmail, will rewrite this value)

Server Settings

  • SMTP Server: - The name or IP address of the SMTP server you intend on using. This should be something like smtp.gmail.com
  • Port: - The port you will connect to on the server (defaults to 25)
  • Username: and Password: - Login credentials for the server (if required)
  • Use Password Authentication - Specifies that you should attempt to login to the server using the supplied username and password
  • Use Secure Connection (TLS) - Specifies the use of Transport Layer Security for password connections

Common Error Messages


No SMTP server has been specified.



The server address is invalid.



If you are sure the server is correct, this error probably means you are not connected to the internet.



TLS authentication is not enabled.



Password authentication is not enabled.



Wrong password was supplied.



Can't connect to server, could be the wrong port.
